The JCB 457ZX wheel loader has power and productivity by the bucketload. The 250 hp (186 kW) Cummins engine is mated to a 4-speed ZF fully automatic powershift transmission for stepless gear changes and smooth operation. What’s more, with 3 axle options, including open differentials, limited slip differentials and automatic locking differentials, a 457ZX will always help you keep a grip on productivity.

At the business end of the 457 X wheel loader, ZX loader geometry generates 38,667 ft. lbs. (172 kN) breakout force. Besides huge breakout forces, the Z-linkage loader design means this front loader is also capable of high dump angles for improved productivity. A revised rear chassis design provides 3.3% extra lift capacity over the outgoing 456ZX.

Clever electronic management on the 457ZX wheel loader can control progressive clutch cut-off for efficient, productive loader control. This feature automatically diverts maximum power to the loader hydraulics for optimal truck / hopper loading duties.

On the drivetrain, the 457ZX has unloaded spool valves, meaning the loader arms lower under gravitational, not hydraulic, force. Meanwhile, wheel speed braking means 457ZX brakes rotate at the same speed as the wheels for heat and drag reduction, as well as improved fuel economy.

The whole of the 457ZX wheel loader went through an extensive development program to ensure its durability. For starters, we tested across 1.2 million cycles and used computer-aided finite element structural analysis. Then, because our front end loaders are used in every corner of the globe, we field tested the 457ZX in climates ranging from -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C).
