Service Manager – East Syracuse, NY

Liftech Equipment Companies is a leader in Industrial & Construction Equipment Sales/Rentals, Parts & Service, and we have an immediate opening for a Service Manager based out of our East Syracuse, NY Branch operation.

This is your opportunity to be a key part of a strong team atmosphere that breathes success through product pride & quality. The ideal candidate must have solid customer service and supervisory skills to successfully manage the day to day operations of our fast-paced Service Department.

Experience in the lift truck/material handling, construction equipment and various other types of capital equipment businesses is strongly preferred.

Your duties and responsibilities as the Service Manager include ensuring that the branch achieves desired Service Department profitability levels thru excellence in performance of the following areas:

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Daily Activities of Shop Techs and Painter
  • Manage Quality, Efficiency and Profitability of Shop Jobs
  • Provide Technical Support and Assistance to Shop and Road Technicians
  • Assist and Oversee Service Coordinator in Managing Daily Schedules of Road Technicians
  • Manage Quality, Efficiency and Profitability of Road Technician Jobs
  • Assure current PM Service agreements are completed in a timely manner, based on in-house PM reporting system
  • Manage Warranty Work Through Monitoring of and Compliance with Outside Vendor Procedural Systems
  • Implement Annual Reviews of All Technicians
  • Set Standards for Shop Safety & Cleanliness
  • Maintain Organization of Inventory in the Shop and in the Yard
  • Manage Profitability of Shop Jobs by providing accurate information to Service Coordinator, PSR, Sales Reps and Customers for Requested Jobs
  • Maintain clear communication with customers during repair work, managing expectations of time and cost in conjunction with quoted scope of work
  • Provide Customers with Requested Service Advice, looking to Generate Service Work
  • Coordinate with Trucking to Assure Units are Ready Based Upon Provided Schedule
  • Provide Service and Repair Quotes and Advice to USED/RENTAL Manager
  • Work with Central Billing and Warranty Regarding Invoice Questions, Billing Disputes
