Liftech Equipment Companies, Inc. began operating as an independent corporation, Liftech Handling, Inc., in September of 1988, after operating as a profitable division of the Syracuse Supply Company since 1964.

Liftech is and has been the dominant force in the lift truck industry in New York State for the past two decades.

Representing a world wide leader, Hyster Company, has allowed Liftech to be the primary supplier for the most recognizable, demanding industries in New York State.

With significant training, fleet management, and parts distribution capabilities, we are able to bring to our customers a wide array of value added services. Our ability to manage fleets and provide contract maintenance services for our customer base, has resulted in significant cost savings for our customers.

Liftech is a people-oriented company with about 170 employees at seven full-service locations. The management has created a corporate culture that fosters competence and dedication among employees.

The average years of service for Liftech employees is 9.09 years. In the Parts and Service departments, the average years of experience in the industry is 8.88 years.
 

Ownership...

Liftech Equipment Companies is a privately held company headed by Joseph Verzino, President. Besides having roots in the local business community, Liftech's principals were born and raised in Central New York and are active in civic affairs. What does this mean to Liftech customers? That Liftech is here to stay. Customers need not hesitate to enter into a long-term relationship with a company and people demonstrating this commitment and permanence.

What makes Joe Verzino the right man to be president of Liftech Equipment Companies?

After graduating from Northwestern University in 1975, Mr. Verzino went to work for Syracuse Supply Company. He worked his way up to general sales manager, and along the way -- learned the business from both the supplier's and the customers' point of view.

Verzino served initially as Liftech's vice president for parts and service and became president in 1990. He has also served as chairman of the Hyster Dealer Council and on the Board of Directors of the Material Handling Equipment Dealers Association. His management style is relaxed but efficient, and the growth of the company under his leadership shows that he has the right touch.
